The Washington State Patrol today released a sketch of a man suspected of shooting and injuring two teenagers during a road-rage incident earlier this week on state Route 167 near Sumner.

The victims – an 18-year-old man and 17-year-old girl – were driving south on SR 167 just before 2 a.m. Monday when another vehicle drove up behind them and passed their vehicle. The suspect drove in the left inside shoulder area and nearly caused a crash, troopers said.

As the teens got off SR 167 at state Route 410, the suspect reportedly rolled down the passenger side window and fired a shot at the victims.

The bullet went through the passenger door, struck the man in the forearm and then hit the girl in the back.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a black 2009 or newer model Mazda 6. The shooter is described as white with dark hair.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call detectives at 253-538-3172.
