I had two emails from readers who spotted lots of police cars Tuesday night in the Oakbrook area. Both wondered what happened.

The Lakewood Police Department reports the following:

The state Department of Corrections was trying to arrest a person on a second-degree robbery warrant. The suspect had jumped out the second-story window of a home in the 7400 block of Ruby Drive Southwest and fled.

Corrections officers requested help from Lakewood just before 5 p.m. Officers from Lakewood police, University Place police, DuPont police and Steilacoom Department of Public Safety arrived to help search for the suspect, who was listed as a violent offender.
A police dog searched for the suspect and tracked through Chambers Creek.
The suspect was not found.
