The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department has released a sketch of a man suspected of assaulting a University Place woman earlier this month.
Detectives hope the public can identify the suspect in the sketch. Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the attacker and charges filed in the case.
A woman had been inside her first-floor apartment on 70th Avenue West when she heard someone tapping on the glass sliding door about 11:20 p.m. July 11, deputies reported. She looked outside and saw a man she didn’t know. He had his pants down.
The woman locked the door and called 911. The suspect walked away.
A short time later, the same man ran up to a different woman in the parking lot of the apartment complex. The man reached into his pants and exposed himself, deputies reported.
He grabbed the woman and punched her in the face. The victim was temporarily knocked unconscious.
When she came to, the suspect was on top of her and groping her, deputies report.
The suspect ran away.
He’s described as black, in his early 20s, 5 feet 6 and 150 pounds. He had a thin mustache and wore a gray
hooded sweatshirt and black pants during the incidents.
