Washington State Patrol troopers are searching for witnesses to a hit-and-run crash Thursday night along state Route 410 in the Bonney Lake area.

A car and motorcycle crashed into each other just after 10:15 p.m. near 234th Avenue East. The car, described as a 1987 or 1988 Toyota Camry, didn’t stop. It was last seen going east on SR 410, troopers reported. It likely will have damage to the left front side of the car.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or spotted the fleeing vehicle is asked to call State Patrol detectives at 253-538-3174 or 253-538-3172.

  1. If somebody were to help them on this would they give us the scoop
on how their agency and the state really, really work?

?? It would be helpful to know if it was light or dark colored at least . Maybe even a possible color. Yes it has damage but there are a lot of Camry’s out there . How about narrowing it down a little ?

The car that hit the motorcyclist is an 86-89 RED Toyota Camry. There is a picture of the make and model as well in the Sumner newspaper.

Whoever hit this person should turn yourself in….it’s never as bad as you think if you are honest & upfront!!

@Alinup….Your post has nothing whatsoever to do with the subject at hand…a 40yr old was man was the victim of a hit & run accident!

    On July 29, 2011…7:00 to 10:00PM…
    2121 Tavern on 112th St. East, Tacoma…
There is going to be a fund raiser for William Caruthers. William (Bill) is the young man that was riding his motorcycle on hwy. 410 near Sumner & Bonney Lake…and someone hit him and did not stop.
I’m not involved with the fund raiser, but saw the notice for it. He is probably going to loose his leg below the knee, and his disability insurance won’t be quite enough to help with all of the medical expenses. He is a hard working family man, and will not be able to work for at least 4 to 6mo, and even then…he may not be able to continue with his present job….thanks to the hit & run driver!!!

The victim of this hit & run lost his battle to keep his leg…because his foot had so much damage, that it contracted gangrene….after the accident, there was very little of his heel left…the impact of the car just sliced right thru his Harley boot!
His leg is broken above the knee, as well as below the knee….and his foot was shattered. Of course, there is no leg below the knee now.

To WHOEVER YOU ARE….You thought it was not important enough to stop when you drove into the oncoming lane and hit the motorcyclist…YOU could have stopped and HELPED him….he was bleeding quite badly….and had his friends not been riding their own bikes behind him, he could have very well have bled to death, as he could not feel his leg at all, and needed help to even get off the bike!! Just do the right thing!! He most definately would have stopped to help YOU…and you been the one hit!!
