A 32-year-old Tukwila man was hit and killed by a train early Thursday in the Steilacoom area.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled Ryan E. Stieer’s death as an accident.

He was killed early Thursday on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks in the Steilacoom area, the office reported.

I wonder if you could do a follow up story on the man who was killed by the train in steilacoom by the ferry. We happened to be walking by when they covered up his body. Why was he on the tracks with the arms down and whistle blowing? who was he? So sad. I know it is tempting to try to “beat the train” across the tracks, I missed my ferry this morning as just as the last car was boarding the train came and i was a pedestrian, the ferry left without me, I missed it by seconds because I couldn’t get across the tracks in time.

I’m a bit unclear as to where you were walking. You say that you saw my brother’s body being covered? But where he was hit was not anywhere near where there were pedestrian abilities. And his body was found in pieces. He actually fell from the Train.
