Kent boy nearly drowns in apartment complex pool

A young boy nearly drowned today in a pool at an apartment complex, according to the Kent Fire Department.

The child was unconscious when he was pulled from the water. Someone performed CPR until police and paramedics arrived at the complex in the 2700 block of South 259th Street.

The boy was taken to a hospital. His condition was not immediately known but he is expected to recover.

Fire officials said an adult family member was with the boy at the pool.
