UPDATE: Olympia woman killed in head-on collision identified

UPDATE: The Washington State Patrol has identified the woman as Frances F. Doughty.

ORIGINAL POST: An 83-year-old Olympia woman died today in a head-on collision, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The woman was driving a 1989 Mercedes-Benz west on Yelm Highway when another vehicle made a left turn from Waldon Drive and crashed directly into the Mercedes-Benz.

The other driver, a 29-year-old Olympia man, was driving a 1993 Chevrolet truck.

Both were taken to Providence St. Peters Hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead.

The 3 p.m. collision is being investigated.
