Tacoma police are investigating the deaths of two people found inside a North End Tacoma  as a homicide-suicide, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said this afternoon.

It appears the man killed the woman, then himself. Fulghum said the two victims are related but declined to be more specific because their next of kin had not yet been notified.

A motive for the homicide-suicide was not known. The cause of their deaths also has not been released.

“(The detectives) are trying to establish what took place,” Fulghum said.

Fulghum said detectives were waiting for toxicology results from the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office to see if alcohol or drugs contributed to what happened.

The investigation is continuing today into the deaths of a man and woman found Wednesday afternoon inside a North End home.

As of this morning, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office had not released the names of the man and woman because their families had not been notified. Autopsies were planned today to figure out what led to their deaths.

Tacoma police officers were called to the home in the 3900 block of North 30th Street after the woman’s concerned coworkers asked that officers check on her welfare. The woman hadn’t been at work in several days, police reported.

Officers found the woman, believed to be in her 50s, and a young man dead in the home.

Tacoma police were working to figure out the relationship of the two and what caused their deaths. They have said there is no danger to the public.

I figured as much that it would have been a murder-suicide. Son kills mother. This is so terrible. Condolences to the family.

This illustrates the point that terrible acts of domestic violence, even domestic violence fatalities, can occur any time, any where, in any neighborhood, and in any home. At least the perpetrator had the decency to kill himself, thus sparing the taxpayers the costs of a trial and the costs of his likely incarceration.

Very sad – and, at the root of it all is probably the mother saying no more money to the son.

I think some of these comments are so twisted, Unless you truly know the facts then leave the work to the experts and try to stop foaming at the mouth. This is a sad thing to happen in our town.

It is not possible. I knew the mother and the son. That boy could not have killed his mother. I am not aware that anyone from the police intervirewed any of us who knew them. In all honesty, has anyone ever heard of a case in which a teenage boy murdered his mother and then committed suicide?

My son went to school with the son. Doesn’t seem to fit. . .sad all around.

Sometimes life just doesn’t make any sense. No matter what happened, the end result is the same, two people gone. And that is so sad.

This is so devastating. Does anyone know if there will be a memorial or services for Jackie…so many of her friends are just devastated,it is unbelievable that this could of happened. So many hearts are filled with sorrow and heartache and wont be the same without Jackie.
