The U.S. flags at all state agency buildings will be lowered today in memory of a U.S. Marine from White Swan who was killed last month in Afghanistan.

Gov. Chris Gregoire has ordered flags to remain at half-staff in honor of Lance Cpl. Joe Jackson until the end today or first thing Wednesday.

Jackson, 22, was killed April 24 after an improvised explosive device detonated next to him while he was on foot patrol in Afghanistan.
