From the catch-up file …
I received an email this morning from a reader who wondered if there was an update in last August’s death of King Ramses PJG Hoover, 27.
Hoover died Aug. 31 after Pierce County sheriff’s deputies stunned him with a Taser. The autopsy on Hoover’s body was initially inconclusive as to what led to his death.
After other tests were conducted, his death was ruled an accident. The immediate cause was methamphetamine poisoning, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said today.
Hoover died after two deputies came to an apartment in the 100 block of 170th Street South about 8:30 a.m. Aug. 31. Residents of the apartment said Hoover had broken windows and refused to leave.
The deputies found Hoover hiding behind a couch. Investigators said he refused to come out and resisted the deputies, who stunned him once with a Taser. Moments later, the deputies noticed Hoover wasn’t breathing and called for medical aid. He died at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood.
