Kent employee rescued from underground after fall

A Kent employee was rescued today after falling 15 feet underground while working on a sewer pumping station along the Green River.

The fall was reported at 2:10 p.m. in the 21200 block of Frager Road.

Kent firefighters secured the employee to a backboard and used a hoisting system to raise him out of the hole.

His injuries are not considered life threatening, according to the Kent Fire Department.
