The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is releasing surveillance images of a woman they’d like to talk to as part of their investigation into arsons Wednesday night at two Spanaway stores.

Security cameras at Kmart captured the woman walking out a side door with a shopping cart full of merchandise after a fire erupted inside the store about 7:30 p.m., sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

She hid the cart in the alley. A short time later, another fire was started in the Dollar Store near the Kmart.

Sheriff’s deputies found the shopping cart and will be processing it as evidence, Troyer said.

“At a minimum, she did a large scale shoplift,” he said. “We would like to know who this is. She is obviously somebody we want to talk to about the arson. It’s too big of a coincidence.”

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and charges filed in the suspicious fires. Tipsters may remain anonymous.

Reach Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959.

They should set out a pile of free meth in the parking lot and I am sure she will show back up

salmonhead, are you familiar with this area? you put meth in the parking lot and you will attract 1/2 the neighborhood!

Why the heck do they make the picture so bad, blocking out her face? That’s no way to get an ID.
