Lakewood police and West Pierce firefighters will battle Saturday on the basketball court for charity.

The seventh annual Helmets vs. Shields basketball game will tip off at 6 p.m. at Pierce College, 9401 Farwest Dr. S.W. Tickets are $5 each. Children age 5 and under get in for free.

The teams will be raising money for the Life Safety Charity Fund and the Lakewood Officers’ Charity’s Make a Difference Fund.  They will be selling T-shirts for $15 and host a silent auction and raffle. The silent auction will begin at 5:45 p.m.

The Lakewood police officers won last year’s game 65 to 51.
