A 37-year-old man was injured and another man was arrested after a shooting Tuesday night in southeast Pierce County.

Pierce County sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in the 20000 block of 75th Avenue East about 10:45 p.m. The victim told deputies a 47-year-old man had shot him in the chest, Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Investigators believe the two had gotten into an argument over a woman when one pulled out a gun and shot the other one, Troyer said.

Paramedics took the victim to Tacoma General Hospital for treatment. The man was listed in satisfactory condition today.

The suspect was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault.
