BNSF train hits, kills woman outside Olympia

A BNSF train hit and killed a 33-year-old woman who stepped onto the tracks outside of Olympia this evening, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred about 8:10 p.m. at Rich and Diagonal roads southwest.

Sheriff’s officials say they are investigating the case as a suicide.
