Federal Way police have arrested a Bonney Lake man in his early 20s for allegedly pulling a knife while trying to escape from a drug store after somebody confronted him.

The lock down at Silver Lake Elementary has been lifted, according to the School District’s website.
Federal Way police are searching for a man who wielded a knife while allegedly shoplifting from a drug store.
The search sent nearby Silver Lake Elementary School, 1310 S.W. 325th St., and the Employment Transition Program at the Norman Center on 21st Avenue into lock downs, the Federal Way School District reported. The lockdowns were precautionary and all the students are safe.
The lockdown at the Norman Center has since been lifted. The elementary school remains in a lock down.
Federal Way police were called to Rite Aid in the 2100 block of Southwest 336th Street about 12:40 p.m. after a man was seen shoplifting. When store security confronted him, the man allegedly pulled out a knife and waved it at the security, police reported.
The man left on foot and was last seen in the Alderwoods/Silve Lake area of Federal Way. Police officers set up a perimeter and were using a police dog and King County’s Guardian 1 helicopter to search for the suspect, police reported.
The suspect was described as white, 18 to 20 years old and 5 feet 6 with a thin build. He wore a gray shirt.
