Fire investigators are looking into what sparked an early morning blaze that destroyed a mobile home in Edgewood.

East Pierce Fire & Rescue crews were notified of a house fire on 106th Avenue East just before 2 a.m. today, Assistant Chief Russ McCallion said.

By the time firefighters arrived, the mobile home was engulfed in flames. The roof and walls had collapsed, McCallion said.

The home, which had some additions built onto it, has reportedly been abandoned for the past two years.

Crews got the fire out before it spread to any other structures, McCallion said. The house and its contents were a loss.

Fire and Pierce County sheriff’s investigators were looking into the cause.

No injuries were reported.
