Officers to wait tables Saturday for Special Olympics fund raiser

Pierce County-area law enforcement officers will be refreshing drinks and waiting on tables Saturday at Red Robin to raise money for Special Olympics of Washington.

Officers will be working two shifts at the Tacoma restaurant, 3901 S. Steele St. The first shift is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the second is from 4 to 8 p.m.

The officers will be volunteering their time, Fircrest Police Chief John Cheesman said.
