A 14-month-old boy who died Wednesday after a driver accidentally backed over him has been identified as Fhamarke Ali.

Kent police say the boy escaped his home in the 11700 block of Southeast 233rd Place without his caretakers noticing and made his way into a neighbor’s driveway.

An 18-year-old woman backing out of that driveway told police she did not see Fhamarke as she was leaving the home about 7 p.m.

Police Lt. Pat Lower said the toddler’s death was “a true accident.”
