The Key Peninsula Food Bank reports that someone stole one of its box vans from a Lakebay parking lot early Tuesday.
The van was taken between 12:30 and 1 a.m. Tuesday. Two people drove into the Key Peninsula Community Service’s parking lot at 17015 Ninth St. Court KPN in a dark-colored, medium-sized sedan, the food bank reported.
The thieves broke the lock on the van’s passenger side door, got inside and drove off. The van was headed north on Key Peninsula Highway. The food bank reports that the van did not cross the Narrows Bridge.
The van is white and has Washington state license plates A65769Y.
Anyone with information about the van’s whereabouts or the identities of those involved in the theft is asked to call the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s Peninsula Detachment at 253-798-4940 or Key Peninsula Community Services at 253-884-4440.
