A sewer overflow is expected to close roads in the area of South 15th and Market streets for roughly a week, Tacoma city officials announced today.

Crews stopped the overflow Tuesday morning by pumping sewage around the affected area.

While repairs are done, Market Street between South 13th and South 15th streets will be closed along with South 15th Street between Fawcett Avenue and Broadway.

Work on the pipe, which was installed in 1906, could change as crews progress in their work.
