Tacoma police arrested a man early this morning after he fled from a parked stolen car on South Junett Street and into the backyard of a nearby house.

An officer spotted a man in the stolen car in the 1300 block of South Junett about 12:30 a.m. The man then fled the car on foot. A K9 unit was called and tracked the man into the backyard of a house in the 3000 block of South 13th Street, where he was found hiding.

The suspect was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma where he was treated for injuries incurred when confronted by the K9 officer. The man was then taken to jail.

The man also was wanted on a no-bail felony warrant from the Department of Corrections.
