Slippery residential streets and other roads could prevent garbage trucks from getting to their pickups in some areas today, Pierce County officials say.

Garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections impacted by weather and road conditions
The solid waste collection companies serving unincorporated Pierce County and cities and towns other than Tacoma and Ruston report that weather and road conditions may impact normal operations on Thursday, Feb. 24.
They include:
American Disposal
DM Disposal
Murrey’s Disposal
Lakewood Refuse
LeMay Enterprises
Pierce County RefuseThe hauling companies are operating today and will collect garbage, recycling, and yard waste where local street conditions allow for safe operations. by the end of the day, take them back to your house
For no additional charge, the company will accept twice your normal amount of garbage, recycling, or yard waste at the next regularly scheduled pick-up day. If this requires you to use a container other than the ones normally used, please make sure you label the containers.
University Place Refuse and Westside DisposalThe hauling companies are operating today and will collect garbage, recycling, and yard waste where local street conditions allow for safe operations. If your containers were not serviced by the end of the day, please leave them at the curb. The companies will service them as soon as it is safe to do so.
