Lakewood and University Place fire crews responded early Sunday morning to an apartment fire at 4801 115th St. Court S.W.

The fire was reported just before 3 a.m., and when crews arrived, they found “heavy flames coming from a second-story unit,” Capt. Jenny Sharp of the Lakewood Fire Department said in a news release.

Crews had the fire under control within 15 minutes of the 911 call, Sharp said. The fire did not spread to other apartments, although smoke and light water damage were reported.

The occupants of the damaged apartment unit were able to escape, and there were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
