Lights & Sirens has learned attorneys gave closing arguments today in the trial of Neil Richard Larsen. Jurors got the case late this afternoon.

Larsen is charged with homicide by watercraft and four counts of watercraft assault in a Sept. 29, 2008, collision on Lake Tapps that killed Ron Scott.

Testimony began about two weeks ago.

Prosecutors contend Larsen had been drinking and was speeding when his boat slammed into Scott’s vessel that night. Larsen’s lawyer argues Scott had been drinking himself and parked his boat at the end of a narrow channel with its lights off.

We’re monitoring deliberations and will report a verdict when the jury comes back.

at stake here is dose a person have the right to kill sombody because the other person was drunk.thats the claim of the defense lawyer.i think the jury will find that he dose not have that right.

You mean 2 wrongs don’t make a right?
If you drink a glass of wine, I can’t murder you?

What if I hire a really expensive lawyer?
What if a cop lied about working overtime, then can I get away with murder?

Neil Larson needs to go to prison. He has zero remorse for the pain and suffering he caused by his disregard for human life. Hopefully Bubba will get him drunk on pruno and show him some compassion.

  3. The man killed in the accident, Ron Scott was my uncle.
Ron Scott was murderded, not by his own doing, but by a man with no regret or guilt.
Neil Larsen deserves nothing more than to be put away for the rest of his life.
He walks out of the courtroom, with a smug grin on his face.
Sad how money can buy freedom in washington states judicial system.
    This makes me sick.

I am in complete shock… mind is spinning….. The defendant, Neil Robert Larsen (& apparently brilliant attorney) sat in court with smirks on their faces for the past 2 weeks. The audio of the 911 call, the vicitms describing the gruesome scene of Larsen’s boat lauching over the top of them while the boat’s propeller was dragging through their boat, ripping through their limbs, killing their dear friend, not even when an image of the man he murdered was blown up on the wall beside him…nothing ever wiped off that smug look on his face, rolling his eyes, shaking his head and smiling….literally smiling! OK, to be 100% accurate they both had flashes of boredom on occasion. Justice was certainly not served. Luckily the judicial system and 12 clueless jurors will not decide his ultimate fate. My heart breaks for the victims and the friends & family of Ron Scott….I’m so sorry for the pain and frustration you are all feeling all over again.

ths sad part is the defense lawer will testify durning closeing augument that he knows the lights were off,and that a women was table dancing naked for money and that the boat that was run over at high speed was completely stoped dead in the water and he will probly slander jeff ausbun by saying the lights were off and he turned them on after larson ran over the boat .he was not there and has no testamony to back up these facts but the court system will allow him to lie all he wants to and make up his own story
