Dejen – That 13-year-old ran into the middle of a gunfight. There is a reason that most people don’t do that.

And Pazzo – I like where you were going, but you don’t go far enough. He started shooting first, which did ultimately result in her death, but let’s not forget that he first manipulated her, then brought her across multiple state lines for purposes that may not be confirmed but we all know. He was a scumbag from ‘go’ and while I bet he was telling her all along how much he loved her, how no one else in her life did, and that he would take care of her, he was always just using her and would have used her as a human shield at any time.

r358c……very well said. An unfortunate situation for everyone involved. Let us keep in mind that the one who put the girl in harm’s way was not the officers but the one who started shooting first…..period. He alone is responsible for her death, no matter whose bullet struck her.

Les398…..it is obvious you have never been in a gun battle, thus never tried to shoot back after you’ve been hit and when bullets are fly past you. Let me enlighten you, if that ever happens (which I don’t wish on anyone) the pucker factor is extreme and all you can think of is “Ah s..t!!”. so to second guess these guys is way off base. Thank God Officer McDonald was available and ready to back up these officers and that should be the focus of your comments. But I see you would rather dis the officers who were wounded and trying to respond in extreme stress situation. What a moron.

Once this matter has been totally investigated by law enforcement, — Alot of questions will be answered ! I believe there is more to that 911 call than meets the eye.. and those officers were certainly not aware of the danger they had been dispatched to A tragic incident but thankfully, Our officers are alive and no innocent by standers we hurt !

Thankfully Krista had good aim ! .. It was not her fault the girl darted into the line of fire ! .. The bullet was already fired !

Thank God none of the customers of Walmart or any other uninvolved citizen were hit. The 13 yr old girl does indeed make it bitter sweet

Anthony Martinez was a coward that shot two officers by blindsiding them.His shooting wasn`t “good” like dejun states above.If he fired multiple rounds towards the direction of the officers,he was likely to hit them.He was a worthless coward and a weirdo.Kitsap County is very fortunate to have these three officers that put their lives on the line to protect others.

Three local heroes doing their job.
Sadly, two are injured and one hits her mark.
One more scumbag taken down. One less sexual predator to worry about.
One unfortunate casualty. A 13 year old girl, who according to authorities had run away with the suspect.
Bitter Sweet, no doubt.
