The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office has released the following information on the three deputies involved in Sunday’s shootout in the parking lot of a Port Orchard Walmart:
Andrew Paul Ejde, 48, was shot in his left shoulder and right arm. He is still being treated at Tacoma General Hospital and is listed in satisfactory condition. Ejde is expected to be released within 48 hours.
He has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 6 ½ years and previously worked as a deputy for the King County Sheriff’s Office and a manufacturing engineer with Boeing.
John Roy Stacy, 50, was shot in the right shoulder and was discharged from the hospital Monday.
He has been with the Sheriff’s Office for nine years and retired from the U.S. Navy as chief hospital corpsman after 20 years of service.
Krista Rae McDonald, 38, is identified as the deputy who fired at the suspect after seeing that her two colleagues had been shot. She has been placed on administrative leave – which is standard practice – while the investigation unfolds.
She has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 10 years and used to work for the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and Western Washington University Police Department.
