On the other hand, the headline clued me in to look at the article, which provided me a good laugh. I worked with this clown for a short time; he was a lying, thieving idiot from Day One.

I think the fact that he used to a cop is relevant to the story being it is about a thief who now works on the other side of the law. And pointing out that is is a former TPD officer is fine too, this is a Tacoma newspaper. You people who post here sure do get your panties in a bunch over the silliest things.

Hasn’t worked for the City or County police agencies since the mid-90′s where he was either rejected or terminated in short order, and somehow this suspect is identified as an ‘ex police officer’? Anybody at the TNT interested, or care, what he’s been doing over the past 15 years or even most recently?

Is the TNT so blatantly favorably biased toward other professions or employment, like carpet-layers, retail clerks, dog-walkers, contractors or whatever else the suspect might have been employed doing that the TNT chooses NOT to refer to him as an ‘ex-any one of those’, or is it just a bias against law enforcement personnel and agencies? Perhaps, in terms of fairness the article writer, Mike Archbold, should become an ‘ex-TNT employee’, since as an objective reporter he is failing miserably.

Accurately, they/he is an ex cop. Maybe because they’re an EX they will actually be prosecuted like any other criminal.

Look at the cop that murdered the wood carver in Seattle and watch how he get’s away with it. It’s a given for any active cop and the exe’s too unless they didn’t play along with the good ole boy rule.

An is the PROPER way to start this article… it would have been even better has you written something along the lines: An ex-employee of the Tacoma Police Dept…. it has been well over 10 years since he was employed by the department……

Nice headline. The guy hasn’t worked for the department for 10-15 years and you (the TNT) still need to refer to him as an ex TPD officer. Just another example of twisting a headline in an attempt to sell a few more papers.
