Tacoma police are investigating an armed robbery and carjacking  that occurred early Saturday night.

Two suspects, one carrying a handgun, stole a person’s car at gunpoint about 10:30 p.m. in the 700 block of East 55th Street, police said.

The robbers then fled the area in the victim’s car. Police found the car a few block away with both the doors and trunk open. A K-9 unit was brought in and followed the tracks of the robbers. Along the way, police said they found clothing and cell phones that belonged to the victim.

The carjackers could not be located.
