The King County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death today of a 4-year-old Enumclaw boy.

The boy died at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma after being admitted there Sunday with injuries hospital officials called suspicious, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said Thursday it is investigating the cause of the boy’s injuries, but no arrests have been made.

The boyfriend of the boy’s mother had been taking care of the boy while the mother was at work Saturday.

The boyfriend called the boy’s mother Saturday evening and said he took the boy to his own mother’s house because the boy was sick. The boy’s mother picked up her son and returned to their home in Enumclaw. The mother was then up all night with her sick boy, the sheriff’s office said.

The mother and the boyfriend started to take the boy to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Sunday. But the boy became unconscious on the way and they went instead to Valley Medical Center in Renton.

The boy was then airlifted to Mary Bridge, where he died this morning.

I am sick to death of kids being killed by their mother’s boyfriends.

  2. Single mother headed households are dangerous to children. But it’s so important to keep fathers far enough away so they can be called deadbeats if they lose employment and miss a wealth transfer payment.

This is one problem that can be squarely laid in the laps of superior court commissioners and judges. They are the ones that think it’s fair to have fathers get four days a month with their kids.

Wow pgroup, that was a really stupid and ignorant thing to say. For your information, not all single mother headed households are like this. I happen to be a single mother, and my sons safety and well-being happens to take priority over all else. I don’t even date, because of the fact that my son comes first. This is a matter of common sense (which unfortunately, is not so common anymore), and parents making sure that they are not bringing anyone dangerous into their child’s lives.

This is a very sad story, and yes, the mother will have to live with this for the rest of her life.

Pgroup is correct. It’s not all single Mothers, but a high percentage of them.
I have met or have known many Single Mothers that are really stupid when it comes to protecting their kids. I even tell Cashiers that talk about their boyfriend that I have one but he does not hang out with me and my daughter.
First of all… the “Boyfriend” should never even meet the kids until you have dated for at least one year. By then you should have known much more about him. Including checking him out on the WA Court system website, and his true colors should have shown after a year.
I know a Woman that had her new boyfriend mingling with her kids only 2 weeks after meeting him. It’s ignorance to say the least and evidently they do not read the paper or listen to the news about another Dead child, at the hands of the “Boyfriend”.
Stupid Mothers wake up!!! Your kids come first. Get Grandma to babysit and go see your boyfriend. Keep him out of the house and away from your kids.
