A two-car crash this morning injured one person and  closed the Steilacoom-Dupont Road for a half hour, a Joint Base Lewis McChord sokesman said.

The accident occurred about 8 a.m. near the Solo Point Road on the two-lane lane road which runs through base property.

The woman in one of the cars was injured and taken to a local hospital. The spokesman said her injuries were not life threatening.

The spokesman said the accident occurred when one of the cars pulled out onto the road. Further details were not available.

  1. This is another example of intersections around the base that are not safe and need to be upgraded with proper traffic control. It should have a traffic light or roundabout. I have seen numerous serious accidents in this area recently.
