A Washington State Patrol Trooper used her vehicle to stop an abandoned pickup truck from rolling down westbound Highway 18 early Sunday, according to Washington State Patrol.

The pickup had been abandoned in a lane on westbound Highway 18 just east of Weyerhauser Way when an SUV hit it at approximately 6:45 a.m. and caused the driveline to break. The pickup then began rolling down the highway.

A state trooper used her patrol car to stop the pickup, which came to rest on the hood of the patrol car just east of its original location.

No injuries were reported. Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the incident, which is under investigation.

  1. Kudos to her. She took a chance with her life but, probably, saved others from being injured.

Quick thinking to maintain public safety even at some personal risk. We need more officers like this woman.
