A woman was injured and a man arrested early today after a police pursuit in Bonney Lake.

The woman suffered minor injuries after she got out of the fleeing truck and was ran over by the truck’s rear passenger wheel, Bonney Lake police reported. She refused medical treatment at the scene and was not taken to hospital.

The incident began just after 3 a.m. A Bonney Lake police officer tried to stop a truck that was driving recklessly in the 19800 block of 100th Street East, police reported.

The truck took off.  The officer pursued the truck through the city and into Pierce County.

The woman got out of the passenger side of the truck in the 20500 block of Lapaloma Drive as the truck went about 35 mph. She was hit by the rear passenger wheel and rolled to the side of the road.

The truck continued. The driver got out in the 20600 block of Lapaloma Drive and ran off, police reported.

The truck rolled backwards and hit a stopped police car, causing minor damage. A police dog tracked the driver to the edge of a pond.

The driver surrendered to police and was booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault, felony eluding, reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia.
