Anti-crime rally planned for today along Orchard Street

University Place and South Tacoma residents will rally against crime this evening along the Orchard Street corridor.

The rally is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m., Safe Streets announced. Neighborhood groups sponsored by the crime-fighting organization will demonstrate at two locations – Orchard Plaza at South 56th and Orchard streets and the Shell gas station at Center and Tyler streets.

Local law enforcement officials and city council members are expected to speak.

Participants will be meeting at 3:30 p.m. at Orchard Hills Apartments at Orchard Street West or Madrona Pointe Apartments, 3202 S. Mason St., to paint signs for the rally.

    What good does this do are the crimals being invited to the rally????

  3. ANOTHER Safe Street Kumbuyah Moment !

    You want to decrease crime in those areas, take Orchard Hills, Madrona Pointe and Spanish Hills and burn them down !

    And what politicians ?

    Strickland and Melo ?

    Perhaps they will invite some of their friends, the Illegal Criminals ?
