The carjacking occurred Tuesday morning. A woman was walking to her car in a parking garage near South 10th Street and Pacific Avenue when she was approached by a man armed with a gun about 11:45 a.m. He demanded her keys and car.

The man and a female companion forced the woman into her, bound her hands and legs and drove her to Point Defiance Park. They left her on the side of the road.

About 12:30 p.m., investigators believe the same man robbed the Safeway at 2637 N. Pearl St. He gave a clerk a note that demanded cash and wielded a gun. He left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Investigators believe the man also robbed the Union 76 gas station at 8235 S. Hosmer St. about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday. He showed a gun and demanded cash from the clerk. The man left the store.

The man has been described as black, about 20 years old and 5 feet 1 with a heavy build. He wore a black coat, white shirt, black knit cap and sunglasses during the robberies.

His female companion during the carjacking has been described as white, about 20 years old. She had a slender build, blonde hair and wore a black hooded jacket. There are no surveillance images of her.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
