The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 20-year-old man found dead in his South End apartment earlier this week as Troyvon M. Taylor.

Taylor died of a gunshot wound to the head, the office reported.

Tacoma police detectives were investigating Taylor’s death as a homicide. They have no suspects and no motive for the slaying.

Taylor and a relative lived in an apartment in the 7300 block of South Wilkeson Street. Family members went to the apartment to check on the woman Tuesday afternoon. She was OK but they found Taylor dead, police reported.

Neighbors reported hearing gunfire in the apartment Sunday night but said they didn’t call police.

Detectives talked to the woman but do not believe she’s a suspect in Taylor’s death.
