Several south King and Pierce county restaurants will donate their sales today to two memorials being built in honor of four slain Lakewood police officers.

All Forza coffee shops also will be taking part.

You can find a list of restaurants participating in today’s “Dine Out to Remember Our Fallen” fundraiser here.

Construction has begun on two memorials for Lakewood police Sgt. Mark Renninger and officers Tina Griswold, Ronald Owens and Greg Richards. The four were killed in a Forza Coffee shop in Parkland the morning of Nov. 29.

Would it be inappropriate to ask how much is going for the fundraiser and how much is going to the business?

I think that is status quo in fundraising.

I tried to purchase a tshirt last year AFTER the party at one restaurant and they said I didn’t have to pay for it. I said no, I wanted to contribute to the cause, but left wondering if that $10 ever made it to the fund.
