UPDATED: No explosives found in suspicious box at Tacoma Dome station

UPDATE: Investigators have determined there was nothing explosive in the suspicious box. The box, a large appliance and other trash had been left at the transfer station, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

11 A.M. UPDATE: Tacoma Link service back to normal serving all stations.

PREVIOUS POSTS: Pierce Transit police and Tacoma police officers are investigating a suspicious case reported this morning at the Tacoma Dome transit center.

The case had been at the center for several hours but was not reported until about 8:30 a.m. today, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

Pierce Transit’s explosives-trained police dog responded to the scene.

UPDATE: Sound Transit reports via Twitter that Tacoma Link service is temporarily suspended at the Dome Station.

There are regular operations betweeen 25th Street and the Theatre District.
