WHAT WAS THAT: Home-invasion robbery on South Thompson Avenue

We got an inquiry via Twitter asking about police activity last night in the 3900 block of South Thompson Avenue.

Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum reports that officers responded to the area for a home-invasion robbery that occurred just after 10:30 p.m.

A man entered a home through an unlocked back door and wielded a handgun. He went through some drawers and took a laptop and video game system, Fulghum said. The gaming system was later found outside.

The robber and three others fled on foot. The victims told Tacoma police they thought they recognized the suspect, Fulghum said.
