Tacoma police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a South End bank this morning while wearing a wig.

The U.S. Bank, 7020 Pacific Ave., was robbed about 10: 05 a.m. The suspect walked up to a teller and handed over a note that demanded cash and implied he had a weapon, according to police scanner chatter.

The robber took cash and walked back out of the bank.

He’s described as black, in his 30s , 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He had black hair, a black mustache and goatee.  He was wearing a black wig, blue jeans, a Seattle Mariners baseball hat and a black zippered hooded sweatshirt with a multicolor design on the right front side and a peace symbol on the left chest.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the bank robber’s arrest. Tipsters may remain anonymous. Reach Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959.
