Heavy rains overnight prompted the roof of one Kent business to partially collapse.

Kent firefighters were called to the business in the 8200 block of South 212th Street shortly after midnight. Part of the roof collapsed. No one was inside at the time, Kent firefighters reported.

Damage from the partial collapse was limited to a wing of the concrete warehouse.  There was also extensive amounts of water inside.

Firefighters shut off power and water to the damaged portion of the building, the fire department reported.

Firefighters also were called to a business in the 20600 block of 84th Avenue South after rainwater entered the two-story structure and caused damaged, the department reported.

Firefighters helped employees cover the computer systems, files and other valuables. No one was injured.
