An autopsy conducted on a  27-year-old man died who Tuesday morning after two  Pierce County sheriff’s deputies stunned him with a Taser was inconclusive as to what led to his death.

The cause and manner of King Ramses PJG Hoover’s death is pending further analysis and tests, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office reported today. Those results include toxicology tests that will determine whether there were any drugs or alcohol in Hoover’s system at the time.

Two Pierce County sheriff’s deputies responded to an apartment in the 100 block of 170th Street South on Tuesday after residents reported that Hoover broke windows and was refusing to leave.

The deputies found Hoover hiding behind a couch in the apartment shortly after 8:30 a.m. He refused to come out or show his hands, the Sheriff’s Department said.

The deputies tried to physically take him into custody but Hoover resisted. They stunned him once with a Taser and Hoover continued to resist. A third deputy arrived and helped get Hoover into handcuffs. Moments later, the deputies noticed Hoover wasn’t breathing and called for medical aid.

Hoover died at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood.

Hoover served time in prison from October until May after he was convicted in Pierce County Superior Court for second-degree possession of stolen property. He also pleaded guilty last year in Pierce County to unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

Court documents indicate Hoover completed the county’s drug court program in 2008 after he’d been caught with meth.

  1. No more taxpayer funded testing !

  2. ImBack (and we wish you weren’t)

What do you mean by “taxpayer funded testing? You have no idea what you are talking about.
How would you feel if he were a family member of yours?

Keep your rude comments to yourself.

He means the taxpayer-funded drug court this guy was in. You know, money that could have gone toward schools or parks or filling potholes but instead had to be wasted on this guy’s bad choices.

While I recognize that he was still someone’s little boy, he was not a productive member of society. He was just plain harmful and dangerous, so nobody else feels the same way as his mama about his untimely death.

Quit trying to develop the justice system around not hurting mama’s feelings!

Like I said, neither of you know what you are talking about. Mr. Hoover paid his own way through drug court, like all the drug court participants do. Check your facts.

This is one of the things that can happen while resisting arrest. If he cooperated,he would probably be back home now.

  6. ronniew says:

mrducks — there is absolutely no way the drug court program is financially self-sustaining. The participants may have to pay some, but it’s NOWHERE NEAR the cost to develop and implement the program.

Speaking of drug court, I’m really hoping the paper publishes the results of his toxicology reports. These taser deaths all seem to be happening to people under the influence.

Look at the head on THAT one… His mama definitely looked in that “special book” to come up with that name…”King Ramses PJG” What was SHE smoking????
