UPDATE: Tacoma police have arrested a man for today’s armed robbery at the Humane Society. His age and city of residence were not immediately available.
The man reportedly pulled a knife on an employee and stole a pit bull that was caged in the facility after being seized and declared dangerous.
After tracking a vehicle license plate, officers took the man into custody and returned the pit bull safely to the Humane Society.

There were initial reports that the suspect might still be inside the facility at 2608 Center Street, according to police scanner traffic. There were later reports that the suspect had left the area.
