Tacoma police were searching for a man suspected of robbing a South End sandwich shop at gunpoint this morning.

The robbery was reported at 9:10 a.m. at Subway, 8415 S. Hosmer St., Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The suspect wielded a gun and robbed the shop, then fled.

The robber was described as black, in his 20s and 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 with a medium build. He wore a white do-rag and a light gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head, Fulghum said.

He left the shop on foot and was last seen in a small white car. Officers responded to the area and searched for the robber. He was not immediately located, Fulghum said.
