A Gig Harbor man was injured when his motorcycle crashed into a car on state Route 302 near Purdy Thursday afternoon.

The collision took place a little before 3 p.m. The 67-year-old man was riding his 2004 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide eastbound on SR302 in stop-and-go traffic when he struck a 1999 Honda Civic from behind. The motorcyclist was transported to St. Anthony Hospital; the driver of the Honda, a 68-year-old Gig Harbor woman, was not injured.

The WSP determined that the man had been following the car too closely, according to a press release. No drugs or alcohol was involved.
