Fireworks sparked an early morning blaze Monday at a vacant, two-story home on the East Side, the Tacoma Fire Department reported.

Crews were called to the home in the 1400 block of East 30th Street just after 1:10 a.m. Monday. They found flames coming from both floors of the home, firefighters reported. Crews worked to protect a nearby house.

The blaze caused $82,000 in damage to the property and contents of the vacant home and $2,000 damage to the neighboring home, the department reported.

Firefighters determined fireworks ignited the blaze.

No injuries were reported.
