Everone that votes, needs to keep a log of all the criminal cases that are overturned ,and what judge did the overturning ,and why they were able to overturn the charges.Also we need to hold our justices accountable for the lenient sentences that are being handed out for some of these horrific criminal acts.All too often, A sentence of 5 years in prison, turns out be,after all the pleas are in,18 months.I think 5 years, should be just that,5 years no more no less,unless they do something in prison to earn more time behind bars.

Why doesn’t the reporter say what judge was overturned and who signed the dissent? Isn’t that important info to voters regardless of which side of the opinion they support!? Any way, it was Judge James Orlando overturned and Johnson and Alexander signed the dissent.

I think our supreme court is out of touch and out of control. This and other recent overturns have convinced me that it is this crazy court that is behind our rise in violent crime in this state. Prosecutors won’t charge offenders accurately in fear of later having a long and costly verdict overturn. Legislators also dance to the tune of this skewed court, reluctant to pass tougher laws and sentencing since historically they get the same reversals. So we can put away someone for having a poker game in their garage for longer than a child molester or rapist. What a crock!

Our trial courts generally suck in P.C. Thank goodness the Supreme Court is very good at what they do for the people who can afford to get a matter reviewed there.

I think the defense teams need to be sure to keep the copies out of their clients hands.
