All lanes of northbound Interstate 5 in Lakewood were opened at 9:10 a.m. Saturday morning following planned construction work. Previously, three lanes were closed on northbound I-5 between Gravelly Lake Drive and state Route 512 from mileposts 124 to 127.

The closure started at 8 p.m. Friday night. A backup of two miles from north of Bridgeport Way to Gravelly Lake Drive was reported around 7:15 a.m. this morning.

Drivers should prepare for delays tonight when crews close two lanes of northbound I-5 between Gravelly Lake Drive in Lakewood and 48th Street in Tacoma at 7 p.m. with a triple-lane closure in effect by 8 p.m. All lanes are scheduled to reopen by noon on Sunday.

This work is part of the $8.4 million project to rehabilitate sections of I-5 in Thurston and Pierce counties. For more information on this project please visit www.tacomatraffic.com.
