Gig Harbor police are searching for a man who robbed a convenience store last week while armed with a gun.

The suspect entered the store in the 6600 block of Wollochet Drive shortly after 10 p.m. May 20. He went up to the clerk, who was cleaning the merchandise area of the store, Gig Harbor police reported.

The robber pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk moved behind the counter and was removing the cash drawer when the robber held the gun to the clerk’s forehead. The robber make “increasingly threatening demands,” police reported.

The clerk complied. The robber left on foot, police reported.

The robber is described as black and 6 feet tall. He wore all dark clothing and a blue bandana on his face. His sweatshirt sported an “Air Jordan” logo on the back. He wielded a black-and-chrome handgun.

A maroon, full-sized pickup truck was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed shortly after the hold up, police reported. It’s not known whether the truck is connected.

Anyone with information on the robber is asked to call Gig Harbor Police Department at 253-851-2236.
