Two men have died after a boom truck they were working on struck a power line in Auburn Wednesday afternoon.

A little after 5 p.m., firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority were dispatched to a report of a commercial truck fire in the 3600 block of A Street SE. First-responding crews found smoke coming from under a boom truck that had hit overhead power lines. The fire was quickly put out.

The men were found dead at the scene, with injuries consistent with electrical and fire burns, according to Auburn police Sgt. Scott Near.

Police are investigating the incident and have not released the names of the men.
